As of Friday 21st July 2023, CARE became the official owners of 86-88 Victoria Street, Grimsby! We are super excited to be sharing this milestone with you all. We hope you join us on this journey of transforming the old beloved Royal Bank of Scotland into a vibrant community hub in the heart of Grimsby.
On Friday, with 9 minutes to spare before the estate agents closed, our CEO Anne Bickerstaffe and Chair of Trustees David Jones rushed down to complete the purchase of our new Community Hub. Along with our Accounts Administrator Ann-Marie, and Anne's husband, (also CARE's handyman) Andy. With moments to spare, the purchase was finalised and they managed to get the keys and pose for some lovely photos!
Anne brought along the first Architect drawings and laid them down in our new space! Envisioning all the inspiring plans we have. We are thrilled to be able to get to work on the space. All the planning and building, is now underway! We expect the community hub to open in 2024.
A big thanks to the Key Fund, for helping us purchase the building, and the Community Ownership Fund for awarding us a grant to be able to get to work with the renovations. It's a huge project, but with the support of our community, we believe it is possible.
