We welcome volunteering at The CARE Shop in Cleethorpes, and at The CARE Hub in Grimsby.

“Volunteering at the CARE Hub has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve done. I really enjoy being part of a team that’s so passionate about helping others, and every shift feels meaningful. Whether I’m welcoming visitors, making cups of tea, or chatting with people who need support, I feel like I’m making a small difference in someone’s day. It’s also given me a lot personally - I’ve met great people, gained confidence, and learned new skills I never expected to. There’s a real sense of community and kindness at CARE, and that’s what keeps me coming back each week.”

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH
Olivia joined CARE last year as one of our youngest volunteers. She was keen to volunteer with us as her family have been regular customers at our charity shop in Cleethorpes for many years.
When the opportunity came up this year for Olivia to carry out a full week of work experience, she asked if she could work with us at the CARE shop, and we were happy to oblige. What impressed us was that after Olivia had worked her full five days of work experience through the week, she chose to continue volunteering on the Saturday as well, serving customers at the till and pricing various items.
Olivia tells us that she volunteers with CARE as something to do - it gets her out of the house and she has so much fun when working with us.
“The main enjoyment of volunteering with CARE is the people. I’ve gained so much confidence and learnt great people skills here already. I also love creating designs on the chalkboard which we display outside the shop to encourage people to come in and have a browse around.”
