Many of our staff and volunteers have lived experience of the same hardships faced by the community we support. We’re not just a charity; we’re a local community working together to change lives.
Management
Anne Bickerstaffe, CEO
"I've always believed that strong communities are built on compassion, inclusion, and making sure nobody is left behind."
Anne has been leading charities for nearly 30 years. She began her career founding the Hull Lighthouse Project, a charity supporting sex workers that continues to thrive today. She went on to lead community development and a £2.9m building project for Hull Community Church, before heading up the church from 2015 and championing inclusion and diversity. She has worked for CARE since 2022, transitioning the charity to become more sustainable, and implementing the supported housing scheme alongside the Victoria Street building project.
Joe Brumby, Director of Operations
Joe came to CARE following a successful management career in retail and sales. In his last role leading a pharmacy in the heart of the North East Lincolnshire community, Joe determined to turn his business and people management skills to help others in need. As Director of Operations, Joe leads all operational activity for the charity, including The CARE Shop.
Vicky Parker, Director of Services
Vicky joined CARE in 2022 and leads services across housing, crisis support, and community projects. With over 20 years' experience in the property sector, including many years at Lincolnshire Housing Partnership and Doorstep, she brings deep knowledge of housing and a clear understanding of what makes tenancies work for both landlords and residents. Her people-focused leadership has strengthened how CARE supports local people - from improving property management to shaping new partnerships across North East Lincolnshire.

Brian Noble
Support Supervisor
Brian has worked in the housing support sector for 20+ years and brings a wealth of local community experience. He joined CARE in 2026 in a new role that will keep him in the heart of the community of Grimsby, where he’s also an active member of Grimsby town football club as an academy coach and avid fan.

Briony Chestnut
Crisis Support Worker
Briony joined CARE as a Crisis Support Worker, helping people in crisis with everything from food and housing to utilities, form filling, and signposting. Every day brings something different, and Briony approaches each one with compassion and a commitment to making sure nobody is turned away. -

Anita Reynolds
Tenancy Induction Officer
Anita has been part of the CARE team for an incredible 25 years, taking on almost every role within the organisation along the way. She recently stepped into her current position as Tenancy Induction Officer, where she supports new tenants through their housing journey.

Kim Smith
Tenancy Support Officer
Kim worked in retail for 20 years building a great skill set in giving fantastic customer service and following operations and procedures. She now helps people at all stages with their tenancies, which she finds very rewarding.

Angel Hayes
Crisis Support Co-ordinator
Angel joined CARE as a Crisis Support Worker and has since stepped into the role of Crisis Support Co-ordinator. She supports people through some of the most vulnerable and challenging moments of their lives, bringing compassion and dedication to every interaction. -

Kirstie Pollard
Tenancy Support Officer
Kirstie previously worked in the housing sector for many years with private landlords. She brings a wealth of knowledge about housing processes, legislation and how to support tenants. For CARE, she enjoys most helping people in their properties and solving problems for them.

Sarah has been a Housing Support Worker at CARE for over five years, bringing a deep commitment to inclusive, person-centred support. She and her colleagues go above and beyond to ensure every client receives the highest level of care - with no barriers and no set criteria.

Andy previously worked with SEN individuals in many different roles. He found this work very engaging and enjoyed seeing each individual flourish. He came to CARE to continue to grow his skills in a different capacity within the housing support team, improving people’s quality of life.

Sam has been part of the CARE team for 10 years, leading the charity shop business in Cleethorpes as Shop Manager. From serving customers and sorting admin to heading out for furniture collections, no two days are the same - and that's just how he likes it. -

Sarah-Louise began her journey with CARE over 20 years ago as a volunteer, quickly discovering a passion for supporting others. Over the years her role has grown significantly, and she now plays a vital part in keeping the organisation running - from managing day-to-day admin and coordinating information across teams, to analysing data that helps shape how CARE delivers its services. -
